If I am on a swing or going down a slide or even just running across the screen, it would be very confusing to track my head and then my hip and then my feet at different points in time. So always stick to one place. If you are tracking a car, you should not add a point on the hood and then another on the back window – just stick to one or the other and make sure to add points/dots on the same part of the person or object during each point in time. It might help to attach something that is easy to track on a person or object, like a red hat or a big yellow spot before videotaping.
